I so appreciate your podcast. I find myself doing these type of things all the time! It usually happens after something I shared or commented on in a Teams meeting at work. What happens is that I am afraid I said something offensive, stupid or incorrectly! It can really become paralyzing! I will note myself fleeing into a frenzy! If my poor hubby is home, I will run down to run the whole thing by him and see what he thinks to determine if I was really as offensive as I thought… it usually is not translated well into manspeak and he usually does not get it at all. Eek! Thankfully God is teaching me to keep silent more often- use wisdom and discernment in my responses and worry less about what people may think. Especially since I cannot read minds! Please tell me I’m not alone!
Valarie, you are *not* alone! I recently sketched out a bit on neurodivergence in the workplace, but, like you, am terrified of offending anyone or seeming like I'm unappreciative. So, when I get the kinks worked out, prayerfully we can ALL feel supported! 💜
