Self-Love Through Self-Care
On a day that calls for it, take a peek into my mental health toolkit . . .
Yep, it’s still #OCDAwarenessWeek, and I am modeling some self-love through self-care rather than a creating a podcast episode.
The truth is, the last couple of days have been challenging on a number of levels. So, I’ve been enforcing those boundaries I discuss here frequently, and keeping filters in place.
Additionally, I’ve reached into that toolkit I talk about so often. I have been listening to music (if you are familiar with the episode “My Origin Story,” you might be able to guess the playlist!), using my lavender and bergamot essential oils, and knitting with my favorite yarn (coincidentally called “Calmer”).
Instead of putting perfectionistic pressure on myself to produce an episode, and edit it (talk about OCD perfectionist tendencies!), I’m choosing to walk the talk.
The accompanying graphic is the actual work in progress.
Prayerfully, I’ll be back at it tomorrow, Lord willing.
“When anxiety overwhelms me, Your consolation delights my soul.” — Psalm 94:19
