#WednesdayWisdom: Recharge Your Spiritual Batteries with This Simple Game-Changing Shift
The secret to getting your day started off right is right under your nose, if you know where to look. Check out this one-minute read for the answer!
As mentioned in the episode “New Groove,” I’m creating new patterns and daily rituals to preserve my peace of mind. There is one that has been a complete paradigm shift for me, and gets my day started off on the right course. It’s taken straight from the pages of Scripture:
Early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up and went out to a solitary place to pray. — Mark 1:35
Yet He frequently withdrew to the wilderness to pray. — Luke 5:16
While still ever the night owl, I can’t say I get up “while it’s still dark,” but I do rise early enough to have alone time in the word and in prayer.
I’ve been doing some word studies on “peace” and “quiet” that I hope to share with you soon. I have become quite protective of both my peace and practicing the quietude enjoined in Scripture. I find my morning devotionals provide an abundance of both!
Just as we may make dates with ourselves on our calendars for self-care rituals like the gym or something pampering, challenge yourself to make this devotional time a daily date that is written in indelible ink! It sets the tone and focus of your day, and time with the Lord, our Best Friend, is always well spent!
