We are still under the weather today, but seem to be turning a corner. Today has been mainly a day of catching up on rest and breaking this fever.
But today is also my mother-in-laws birthday. We don't really do “in-law” here, she's just Mom. I have been tremendously blessed to have her in my life these past 34 years. In fact, she shipped us before we even knew what was going on!
I also want to share something about another “little mama.” My daughter has always been a nurturer. From her first family issues where she was basically the parent to her little brother, to foster care, to our home, she takes her role as caregiver seriously.
I have a snapshot in my heart today from her camping out at her older brother’s side today. He has a chronic condition that makes anything viral or bacterial something to be monitored closely.
So she began administering meds, taking temperatures, reporting on his progress, or lack of it, as he and I took the worst of it. Both of us battled very high fevers and extreme lethargy. So, sister camped out and cared for him all afternoon.
That's the beauty of love. We don't have to be related by blood to be family.
Matthew 12:48-50 says,
"But Jesus replied, ‘Who is My mother, and who are My brothers?’ Pointing to His disciples, He said, ‘Here are My mother and My brothers. For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.’”
Our meme for today says, “We are all family through the blood of the Lamb.”
